Position Title

Quality Specialist

Position Summary

The Quality Specialist is responsible for monitoring, inspecting and proposing measures to correct or improve the products at various stages of production to meet quality standards.

Location: Burnaby, BC

Reporting to: VP, R&D and Operations

Essential Functions

  • Audit to ensure incoming and fabricated parts align with established quality standards and specifications.
  • Identify and record rejects within incoming vendor parts, arrange quarantine area accordingly.
  • Submit rejects for return to vendors’ claims.
  • Perform routine inspections and quality tests for assembled boilers before packaging.
  • Investigate product faults, conduct root cause analysis, and provide assembly and sheet metal teams feedback.
  • Propose countermeasures to defect-inducing production issues.
  • Collaborate with the production team to apply countermeasures and provide training to team members where necessary.
  • Document quality checks activities and create auditing reports.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Quality Management, Manufacturing Management, or a related discipline.

Work Experience:

  • Prior experience performing quality checks in a manufacturing setting.
  • Prior experience managing products’ quality compliance.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • In-depth knowledge of quality control methods and concepts.

Position Title

Firmware Quality Assurance Specialist

Position Summary

The Firmware Quality Assurance Specialist will play a crucial role in enhancing software and firmware release quality, tracking and resolving projects, maintaining automated testing, and expanding its capability.

Location: Burnaby, BC

Reporting to: Senior Director, Engineering

Essential Functions

  • Conduct firmware and system testing at controller and product level, pre-production.
  • Build, monitor and run regression testing for controller firmware on the automated test system.
  • Maintain the automated test rack systems and continuously enhance their testing efficiency and capabilities.
  • Collaborate with the technical support team to carry out detailed field issue investigations.
  • Incorporate field issue feedback from the technical support team into the JIRA project board.
  • Identify and replicate issues for testing.
  • Record issues to be tested on the JIRA project board.
  • Provide ongoing maintenance of JIRA project board work with engineering and technical support teams to ensure the project items move along.
  • Ensure the correct release of official versions of new firmware and software onto the assembly floor, technical support portals, and parts.
  • Collaborate with engineering and technical support team to release firmware and software updates to the market.
  • Collaborate with the technical writer to draft engineering notes for tech support and customer release communication.

Qualifications

Education:

Work Experience:

Manufacturing Engineer

Position Summary

The Manufacturing Engineer will work closely with the engineering and production teams to optimize product manufacturability and production line efficiency.

Location: Burnaby, BC

Reporting to: Senior Director, Engineering

Essential Functions

  • Actively improve and drive the process, productivity, and assembly-line quality through measurement, detailed analysis, and sustaining improvement with process controls.
  • Develops work instructions, drawings, tests, modifications, assembly processes, fixtures, processes or specialized manufacturing, tests equipment for existing or new products and ensures production readiness.
  • Support and drive Lean Manufacturing and 5S Initiatives.
  • Liaise with the engineering and production teams to develop plans that improve overall production line efficiency.
  • Work with Technical Writers to develop assembly and process specifications and other engineering documents.
  • Collaborate with other teams to set production budgets and plan production schedules.
  • Ensure resolution of failure on assembly lines as they arise.
  • Creating, implementing and managing a proactive preventative maintenance plan for IBC assembly lines, including but not limited to regular servicing and uptime line maintenance.
  • Manage scheduled gas leak tests and calibration.
  • Ensure gas analyzers and related mechanical infrastructures operate without fault.
  • Provide work leadership to mechanical engineers, assemblers and maintenance staff.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Post-Secondary Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering.

Work Experience:

  • Previous experience in improving product manufacturability and production line optimization.
  • Previous experience developing and managing preventative maintenance schedules for production lines.

Position Summary

The Product Engineer works in our multi-disciplinary engineering team and will play a crucial role in developing our current and next generation of residential and commercial hydronic heating products. 

Location: Burnaby, BC

Reporting to: Senior Director, Engineering

Essential Functions

  • Enhance existing products and develop new ones through innovative design.
  • Model and analyze products or components using computer-based analysis tools.
  • Verify designs through the implementation of prototypes, instrumentation, and testing.
  • Design, develop and improve product-specific manufacturing facilities, including assembly systems, automated processes, gauges, and test fixtures.
  • Collaborate with the Manufacturing Engineer on resolving manufacturability issues of new products pre-production.
  • Collaborate with the Test Technician on product standards testing and submission to accredited labs for product listing and authorization to apply certification marks.
  • Collaborate with the Test Technician to develop and maintain a thorough understanding of all applicable product safety and efficiency standards.
  • Achieve and maintain accreditation to independently conduct tests and complete reports.
  • Manage project timelines, schedules, and budgets to complete critical tasks for new product launches.

  • Write conceptual and procedural content.
