Product: CX Series Combi Boiler

Date: August 21, 2025

INTRODUCTION

At IBC Technologies Inc., product safety, reliability, and performance are our highest priorities. As part of our ongoing quality assurance efforts, we’ve identified a potential issue with domestic water temperature fluctuations in CX Series Combi Boilers.

To address this issue, IBC is conducting a voluntary recall of CX Series Combi Boilers in cooperation with the U.S Consumer Product Safety Commission and Health Canada  because the hot water may exceed the temperature set on the control panel, creating a burn hazard to the user.

 CORRECTIVE ACTION

Effective immediately:

  • All CX Series units will include updated installation guidelines requiring the use of a thermostatic mixing valve.
  • All existing CX boilers in service must be retrofitted with a thermostatic mixing valve.
  • IBC will provide the CX Recall Field Kit: Part# P-1639 free of charge.
  • Kit Contents:
    • CX Bulleting & Instructions
    • P-1638 Mixing Valve
    • Labor Claim Form
    • USB – Software update

A labor allowance will be issued to licensed contractors upon completion of installation and submission of the claim.

Safety and maintenance guidelines

  • All Installation and service must be performed by a qualified installer, service agency, or the gas supplier.
  • If there are concerns about the boiler’s condition, immediately shut off electrical power and gas supply. Contact a licensed contractor for an inspection.
